Just a bit of a close up on the binding of my latest project. When I mentioned I was making the Sadie bias dress, Tessuti messaged me with a link to the bias binding tutorial.
Bias binding is my least favourite finishing method, but I also know that with a silky fabric like this one, a facing would probably constantly slip out. So I went with the binding. The fabric was slippery and hard to manoeuvre with everything bias. But I’m pleased with how it turned out. I definitely think I need to practice more.
Has anyone tried a bias hemming foot on their machine? Is it worth it

When @fabricgodmother showed me their new prints I instantly fell in love with this pink bow print. The fabric is the Beau Viscose ECOVERO™ Satin. I don’t usually wear pink, maybe I was overcome with the barbie hype.

But look how amazing it turned out!

My recently made bias skirt is something I wear weekly. So I knew a bias dress would be perfect. I made the @tessutifabrics Sadie bias dress and used their tutorial on how to give it a bound edge rather than facings. I took about 15cm of the hem.

This works well as an everyday dress layered over a tee.
