The Ophelia Playsuit is here, and I am obsessed! T

The Ophelia Playsuit is here, and I am obsessed! The moment I spotted this pattern from @charlotterachantoinette, it was love at first sight. I’m all about shorts and playsuits (if you know, you know, so much easier when you’re forever crouching down with a little one). The Ophelia has a super-cute flat front and drawstring sides and back. Genius for a comfy, adjustable fit! Plus, the shorts have giant pockets, perfect for all the shells, rocks, snacks, and random treasures I end up carrying around.

I actually sized down for a closer fit up top but kept the shorts nice and flared, super flattering and comfy. And honestly? This is just the first of many. I can already tell I’m going to make a whole wardrobe of these!

I found the ultimate sewing manual!

My lovely friend @juliahincks has written the ultimate guide for dressmakers! Not only is this guide perfect for beginners, it is also great for those of us with more experience.

I made the first project in Julia’s book, a simple gathered skirt. It was quick to come together, and I made it in this fun semi sheer gingham. Which I found out goes fully see through in certain light! (Note to self, wear shorts underneath)

Julia’s book is full of tips and tricks and I used the French seam tutorial to level up my sewing for this skirt.

It’s finally warm enough to wear this romper and I am loving it!
I haven’t made the adjustments I need to make to the back. It’s very cool and relaxed this way, but with the gape (see last pic) you can basically see my big mum knickers haha. So I will be adding a tie to this version.

I’ve had so many compliments and feel like this is gonna be a staple piece this summer. Thanks @_sadoe_ for a great pattern. 🧡

Gingham girl summer!!

I haven’t made a sleeveless Fleur since the pattern launched 2 years ago, I’d forgotten what a lovely and versatile pattern it is! It’s one of my favourite patterns to make, the process is lovely and having a tie front instead of buttons or a zip is always a winner.

When I saw the newest Picnic collection from Fabric Godmother this lovely Arden gingham stood out to me. I’m a sucker for anything red, and I loved the size of the gingham, it’s slightly bigger than their other ginghams.

I can just see myself wearing this dress all summer! What do you think?

The new updated version of the @_sadoe_ Hollyhock

The new updated version of the @_sadoe_ Hollyhock Romper is now out!
I was part of the tester group for this and I really love how mine turned out.
I wasn’t sure which size to make and settled on a size 8 as the bust measurement for a size 6 seemed a bit tight. Next time I would size down as the back gapes slightly, although I do think I will add a tie from the side seams so it fits a little snugger.
Sadie really took all the tester feedback on board on has made changes to the pattern to help with fit and instructions clarity.
Overall I’m very pleased with this, and can’t wait to wear in the summer, it’s so floaty and lovely.
