Sneak peek of my latest autumn make! It’s no secre Sneak peek of my latest autumn make!
It’s no secret…I love it!

The most beautiful blouse ever! You may have seen The most beautiful blouse ever!

You may have seen my stories about sewing the @vivianshaochen Nephaline Blouse. I was halfway through my first one, and saw this fabric from @fabricgodmother r and had to quickly pivot my plans. This beautiful winter broderie in amythyst was just calling my name, and even better, the black embroidery meant I could use black thread for my sewing and topstitching - so I didn’t need to buy matching thread. I didn’t line this one, so I can wear different tops underneath. But I did use the matching lining fabric for the button stand and bindings.

I decided to make the high-neck version without a frill, and I’m really pleased with it. After looking at other people’s, I did size down. Next time, I won’t do this; it actually fits well at the shoulders, so no need to size down. Maybe next time, just take some volume out of the side seams, as it does have quite an oversized A-line fit.

I’m excited to make my next one.

You might think of linen as more of a summer fabric, but even this lightweight windowpane check linen can be layered up and worn for winter.

Again this is the Cora dress, the first sewing pattern by @the.sewcialite it’s super cute, I lengthened mine, but I’m excited to make a shorter version next!

I realised I’ve actually got a big backlog of make I realised I’ve actually got a big backlog of makes and images from summer. I was on a roll, then broke my arm and posting took a back seat.

This is my incredible #waverleypattern skirt by @heysewsister.co.uk that I made during testing.

I really love this skirt and I’ve been wearing it a lot throughout summer, I’m interested to see how I can style it this autumn. Swipe for the mega swish.

Would you be interested in seeing how I style my sewing projects?

I’ve had my eye on the Cora Dress pattern by @the. I’ve had my eye on the Cora Dress pattern by @the.sewcialite for quite a while, but I didn’t know what fabric I wanted to use for it.
I'm so lucky that @longancraft offered to gift me the perfect fabric. This stunning windowpane check linen is relatively lightweight and, of course, by the time I’d made it, Summer in the UK was pretty much over. Luckily, these layers up quite well, so I will be wearing it well into the Autumn.

The pattern was straightforward to follow. I decided to make the lined bodice version and lengthen it to more of a midi style, as I thought the linen would be too lightweight for a short dress. Annoyingly, I lost the invisible zip I had purchased for this project and ended up using a regular zip instead. Still, I think I’m going to swap it out at some point.

Overall, I'm super pleased with the dress, and this is going to be my go-to look for Autumn.

This is my favourite ever @fabricgodmother print, This is my favourite ever @fabricgodmother print, designed and hand-painted by the incredible @constantmaker. The fabric is a viscose crepe base cloth which, when paired with the print, gives a beautiful vintage feel. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted it, but I had no plans for what to make.

I then decided to make the @silversagapatterns Clara dress for my friend’s wedding. I was worried that the viscose would be challenging to work with, but the crepe texture made it much easier and less slippery. I managed to create the dress from two remnants; I just had to remove some of the volume from the sleeves to accommodate this. I also changed the sleeves by just adding a loose elastic cuff, as I hate tight elastic on my arms.

I absolutely love this dress, I’m going to work on styling it for everyday and more casual events.

What do you think? Do you have any styling ideas for me?
